We aim to shift the narrative and erase stigmas in the black community about cannabis. Our goal is to spread the message of healing, inspiration, and community. We believe that black cannabis culture is the start of all cannabis culture, and we are here to ensure that the voices and stories of black women are amplified. We advocate for creativity, consciousness, and community.

HERE'S HOW WE GOT TO THIS MOMENT
Black Girls Smoke started in Vic Styles’s living room in Brooklyn, NY in May 2020. She was in a new city where cannabis wasn’t legal. She had a hard time finding good weed and didn’t have a community of women she could smoke with. Styles started BGS as a way to share her own cannabis knowledge, explore the things she did not know, and connect with other women of color who smoke - but maybe didn’t “look” like they smoked. Her mission is to show the world that black women can smoke and be entrepreneurs, moms, educated, classy, and grown AF. Cannabis has changed Vic’s life in so many ways. She’s motivated to continue shifting the perspective on the plant, and on healing communities of color.
